From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0rc3) Gecko/20020523 BuildID: 1.0 RC3 If a graphic on a webpage has an error, it would be nice if Mozilla displayed as much of the graphic as possible instead of not displaying it at all. I've run into a lot of pages have graphics that Mozilla won't display because they have an error, but appear completely intact when viewed with Opera or with Netscape 4.51. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Follow link Actual Results: Displays the message, "The image “http://www.herdthinners.com/2002/0610.png” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors." Page looks fine when displayed with Opera or Netscape 4.51. Expected Results: Displayed as much of the image as possible, possibly with a dialog box or alt text explaining that the image may not be complete because it has an error.
As a "pre-emptive" note against this being marked as a duplicate: I don't consider this to be a duplicate of 41924 because Ian Hickson is asking for an icon to represent the "broken" image (ala I.E.), whereas I am asking that Mozilla display as much of the broken image as possible (ala Opera or Netscape 4.51).

Has there been any discussion about whether this or 41924 is the better way to handle a broken image? Is this likely to be in an upcoming release? Is there someplace I should be looking to determine the status of things like these? (Sorry about all the questions -- I'm fairly new to using Mozilla and Bugzilla)
