User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0

Steps to reproduce:

In Options > Display > Advanced > Reading
I unchecked the option "Automatically mark messages as read".

Actual results:

Status of all messages keeps turning to "Read" automatically every day, even if I did not read or previewed messages. So all my mail gets tagged as read, all the time.

I'm not reading this mail account on any other support than my laptop and have not setup the account to be read elsewhere.

Expected results:

I should see an email message as "Unread" until I manually mark it as read or until I reply to (or forward) the email.
I'm wondering if this has to do with some IMAP setting somewhere on our server, but at the same time, this is the only account that has this issue in the company and many of us use Thunderbird. I'm really puzzled and would like to solve this annoying problem.

Are you really using TB 64 beta? If only one installation has this issue, I suggest to create a new profile. You can start Thunderbird with -p to launch the profile manager.

Do you also see this issue when using versoin 68?
