Hi, I installed everything following the steps from this site: https://firefox-flatpak.mojefedora.cz/ and finally I started the Firefox Nightly browser with this command: flatpak run org.mozilla.FirefoxNightly and then again with flatpak run org.mozilla.FirefoxNightly -no-remote -p in order to start a fresh profile and after a few tries I realized that not only the Allow prompt keeps popping up but also its not actually changing the default browser on the system, Chrome is still displayed as the default browser. This issue was reproduced on Ubuntu 18.04. If there is a more suitable component for this issue, please feel free to change it.

There's the code for Snap there so we may add the Flatpak too:

I installed Firefox 75 from FlatHub then removed the distribution package.
I can't set it to be the default from Preferences, but I can't enable "Always check if Firefox is your default browser", so I don't get asked to set it.
In Gnome Settings, Firefox is still the default browser, maybe because the distribution package was.
OS: Fedora 31 with Gnome. Flatpak version: 1.4.4.

I set it to "?", because I wasn't sure if Firefox 75 is affected or not. Is it right?

This works for me with the current version (97). But setting the default browser does not work for obvious reason (there's no portal for setting the default apps for specific handler and I don't think we'll get any in near future).
What could be more possible is to bring up the system dialog for setting default application when clicking the Make Default
button in the Firefox settings but I would rather track it in separate bug.
Please reopen if you still see the issue.
