Build: 15.0 (13479) Device: iPhone 8 iOS: iOS 11.4 Steps to reproduce: 1. Log in to FxA on desktop and iOS 2. Background Firefox on iOS (wait a few seconds for sync to complete) 3. Open a page on desktop and send it to iOS Actual results: - This is not always working. Occasionally the push notification is not received and after opening the app and syncing the tab is not sent to iOS. Notes: - Working fine when sent from iOS to desktop - Working fine when sent from desktop to iOS when Firefox for iOS is in foreground. - Working fine between iOS devices.

Justin, just tested with Firefox desktop 60.0 and manage to reproduce this issue multiple times. There were some missing steps.

Here's how to reproduce this issue with a clean profile:

  1. Log in to FxA on desktop and iOS
  2. Background Firefox on iOS (wait a few seconds for sync to complete)
  3. On desktop, go to Account Management page
  4. Tap "Show" button next to "Devices & apps"
  5. Disconnect the iOS device
  6. Foreground Firefox iOS and reconnect to FxA
  7. Sync on Desktop and iOS
  8. Send a tab from Desktop to iOS

Actual results:

  • The sent tab is only received after syncing on iOS.

Hmm, yeah this does sound a lot like Bug 1484057. I'll rename this bug to reflect the root issue here and link it to the other bug.
