Build: 15.0 (13685)
Device: iPhone 7
iOS: 12.1

Preconditions:

  • Log in to FxA

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Change device orientation to landscape
  2. Go to Settings -> Home -> Top Sites
  3. Select '1' row
  4. Change device orientation to portrait

Actual results:

  • Top Sites are displayed on 1 row in landscape and on 2 rows in portrait.

Expected results:

  • Top sites should be displayed on the selected number of rows regardless of device orientation.

Note:

  • This also happens when setting 2 rows in portrait and changing the device orientation to landscape. In landscape Top Sites are displayed on 1 row.
  • When setting 4 rows and changing the device orientation to landscape, Top Sites will only be displayed on 2 rows.

I would like to add more info to this bug.
If you select 1 row in portrait, then in landscape you see 2 or more rows and when going back to portrait, the number of columns has changed to the ones shown in landscape, 2. So that number does not match.

Also, when you select 4 in portrait and you go to landscape with enough history, and go back to portrait, you are able to see 5 columns of Top Sites.
I would re-nominate this bug since we are showing more columns than the number user can select for his top sites customization...
