The name of the Apple Macintosh operating system changed from OS X to macOS. We should update Bugzilla. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacOS#macOS for details of this change if interested.

Added macOS as an option, disabled Mac OS X.
Questions:
- Do we change the platform of bugs filed since June 2016 (when Sierra was announced and macOS became the name)
- Do we move all Mac OS X bugs to macOS

When I search for mac bugs, I usually want to see all bugs on the Macintosh operating system irrespective of when they were filed.

I agree with Asa. Ideally we could just rename the option.

If that's not possible, then yes, all existing Mac OS X bugs should be moved to macOS.

That is, this isn't a new version of the macintosh operating system, it's a rename, so I think we should rename old bugs and only have one listing "macOS" in the platform select for searching for all bugs on the mac operating system.

Okay, I'm going to disable the new option, re-enable the old, rename Mac OS X as macOS, and update any bugs that have been filed in the past few minutes.
Thank you.

Note that when we change this field, cached values stick around in the User and Admin UI and can lead to values not showing up. See bug 1521180.
