Imported contacts are empty if vcf contains a Photo

Steps to reproduce:

  • Exported my addressbook as vcf from Evolution
  • Imported it to thunderbird

Actual results:

All Contacts which had a photo will be completly empty (not only the image is missing, but ALL data is missing)

Expected results:

The data should be imported, idealy including the picture but at least the rest of the data.

Please check the version of the VCF files. (second line of the file if opened in a text editor.) vCards with images are from version 3 on I hnk I recall, Thunderbird really only understands version 1

It is Version 3.

I have this problem as well. I tried to import all my contacts from my phone to Thunderbird via VCF and now it's got loads of contacts at the top which are blank.
This means that it is going to be a lot more difficult than I would have thought to transfer all my contacts across to Thunderbird, as all of my contacts with profile pictures have just become blank
