Details

Scrolling on http://www.cavesofqud.com/ is very janky.

The page seems to have two screen-sized fixed gradients that dominate the GPU time. One is a radial gradient producing the green background. The other one is a repeating linear gradient producing a scanline effect in front of the scrolling content.

Chromium scrolls this page smoothly.

Linux, GNOME on Wayland, Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2) (i7-6820HK) and a UHD screen.

We should check if this happens on Windows too. If not then it doesn't need to block wr-intel-mvp.

This is only really a problem for 4k

Jan, do you see this still?

Depends on: 1558106

In the meantime I've replaced my hardware: WQUXGA and a more powerful GPU: Mesa Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics (ICL GT2) (i7-1065G7).

It's smooth. GPU time is low (~4ms) and the workload is mostly Composite. Seems caching is working properly.
