Details

I have downloaded v1.1a Mozilla for both OS 9 and OS X. Edit Source is now at an acceptable size in OS 9 Classic version. Unfortunately, this problem apparently was not addressed in the OS X native version. The source code text is still too small to be usable. Hate to keep bringing this problem up, but it really is a major problem rendering this component of Mozilla unusable.
Duplicate of bug 38981?
no, not a duplicate; bug 38981 is a feature request, this is a bug (font is too small)

The font size was recently fixed in bug 114022. If there's a problem with OS X, then this would be a specific CSS problem in this OS (not recognizing the "font-size: -moz-initial"
I do not see a problem on a downloaded version of mozilla (OSX) from today. The font seems to be a normal font size. What version have you tested this on? The bug Charley mentions was fixed in early or mid-June.
FWIW, using FizzillaCFM/2002071808, source is displayed in the font face and size specified in my font preferences, so the size is just fine (16pt Courier). Is this bug then about the _default_ size being too small? If so, the summary should be modified. Reducing severity to minor since users can control source text size.
