Hello, have found another of my "voodoo" experiences with Mozilla. Been having
this for a while now (I'm on 1.0, had bug since at least RC2) and have finally
decided to report it.
I don't know if this works for every different page, but it has happened to me a
lot, including on Amazon and Apple.
1. Go to a page with a pull-down menu (SELECT OPTION /SELECT) form element.
(Hint: like the category pull-down in the upper left of amazon.com near their
search box).
2. Click it, and I am not sure if it's just a plain right click or a
too-fast-combo click (like my clumsy mashing both buttons), but the right-click
menu will remain, overlaying all of Mozilla, until you choose an item from it.
It will even remain when you click a link on the page, choose refresh from the
toolbar, hit cmd-R, etc.. The only solution once it has happened is to choose an
item from it, or to close the window it's "attached" to. It should be noted
that although it is "attached" to a given window, it will overlay everything,
even if you click another window to foreground it.
The click/mash is hard to explain, but i know the feeling as soon as I've done
it and -- whoops! -- I always know when it's going to get stuck.
Desired behavior: it should either make the contextual menu disappear when I
click elsewhere, or "mashing" should be caught, or Moz should ignore
right-clicks when in a contextual menu. I'm obviously not deciding which :-)
