trailing space after name of newsgroup server is rejected when adding account

Details
This is Mozilla 1.0 final on Windows 2000 SP2.
When adding a new newsgroup server, if the server name has a trailing space, it
is rejected with the alert box error "Please enter a valid hostname." This is
in the dialog window in the Account Wizard with the title "Server Information"
and the text: 'Enter the name of your news server (NNTP) (for example,
"news.example.net")," in the entry box labelled "Newsgroup Server."
The same behavior also results when entering an incoming server but does NOT
seem to happen when editing one's SMTP server. Whatever check functions are
being used should automatically trim whitespace on both sides; no one would even
want to enter whitespace intentionally.
This seems closely related to bug 99133 and less closely to bug 124170

I think it is so closely related to bug 99133, that I'm gonna mark it as a dupe.
