[Prerequisites]:

• You are logged into "Pocket".

[Steps to reproduce]:

1. Open the browser with the profile from prerequisites.
2. Open a new tab and hover any "Recommended by Pocket" card.
3. Click the menu button from the top-right corner of the card and select the "Save to Pocket" option.
4. Click the card's menu button again and select the "Delete from Pocket" option.
5. Restart the browser and observed the displayed cards.

[Expected result]:

• The previously dismissed card is not displayed.

[Actual result]:

• The previously dismissed card is redisplayed in the same position as before.

Wolasi, what's the expected behavior here? I do see that the figma spec says:

Archive or Deleting from Pocket should remove the story from New Tab

Is that supposed to only last for the current page or it should be gone forever as if the user dismissed it?

Potentially if the fix is to treat the story as blocked/dismissed, it could reuse the usual blocked links storage and it would also trigger an action that would fix bug 1542264.

Hi Marius, Screen recording shows the issue in pocket new tab experience. Similar to 1542264, Can you please confirm with highlights hidden, this behavior exists in default Activity Stream. Thanks

I think this is fine, because the Pocket Stories on new tab experience isn't supposed to be a proxy for a users Pocket List so it's fine if the story reappears in the next session. Also this mirrors the behavior on the current/original behavior of new tab.

Hi Punam, this issue is also reproducible with the "Highlights" hidden on the default new tab experience.
