User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0
Steps to reproduce:
Updated to 67.0b1
The "Provider for Google Canendar" extension is disabled with no option to enable. Argh!
The Beta Notes include a link to a replacement provider, so I clicked on it. Multiple times over several hours using three different browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Edge).
Actual results:
The error in the attached image appears.
Expected results:
Either a web page showing the replacement provider info and a download link would appear or at least the replacement provider would immediately start to download.

Info?
I can provide all sort of random info, but you won't get what you need unless you are more specific.
Regardless, I provided an image of the result I get EVERY TIME I attempt to use the link provided in the Thunderbird Beta Notes that were displayed after Thunderbird updated to 67.0b1.
The update disabled the previously working Provider for Google Calendar and replaced it with a broken download link to an unknown thing that might make my calendar work again if the link ever works. I know this isn't really a Thunderbird "bug" per se, but since it was the only option provided to replace a functionality that the Thunderbird update removed, someone here should be able to answer and/or correct it. Or at a minimum, provide an alternate (working) link to the component.

This is the download link in the Thunderbird Beta Notes:
If I use it, I get the result show in the image with my first post.

FWIW, I don't get the error you see - downloads fine

Could be that there actually was a connection failure.
I get this error when I click the link and it opens in Firefox.
I use right click on the link in the release notes.
Select "Save Link As" and save it to my Downloads folder.
Then open add-ons manager in Thunderbird.
Select Extensions.
Click the gear wheel icon and use "Install Add-on From File".

Yeah, you need to right click save as. This .xpi installs fine in Thunderbird for me after being downloaded. No connection failures. I have no control over taskcluster links.
If a better install workflow is desired for this, it should be uploaded to ATN. I think it's just meant to be a temporary solution though, in which case, it is what it is.
