RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 57805

People

(Reporter: mqudsi, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0

Steps to reproduce:

For users interested in adopting Firefox but coming from a background with other browsers (namely Chrome or Internet Explorer), it would be great if it were possible to configure the browser to use the same shortcut keys for common actions. While most tasks share keys, the shortcut to launch a new private window (ctrl+shift+p) does not match these other browsers (ctrl+shift+n), but the real problem is that there's no way for a user to change this mapping.

Actual results:

There is no setting to change the mapping for new private window.

Expected results:

There should be a setting to change the keyboard shortcut for opening a new private window.

As far as I know, it's never been possible to change one specific keyboard shortcut. So the only way this would happen is as part of bug 57805 or bug 1325692.

For why the current keyboard shortcut hasn't been changed, see bug 749390 and bug 1271146.
