Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020611 BuildID: 2002061104 When you view a web page with links to pdf files and you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 in Mozilla 1.1a, the pdf does not load. Instead, there is simply a blank page like the one you get if you go to about:blank. The workaround this is to right-click, and "Save Link Target As...", and save the file. Is this Mozilla's problem or Acrobat Reader's problem? Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to a web page with links to pdf files. 2.Click on the link. 3.A blank page appears. Actual Results: A blank page appeared. Expected Results: Mozilla should have loaded the pdf file using the Adobe Acrobat Plug-In Version 5.00 for Netscape.

I may be seeing the same problem on build 2002071308 Windows 2000. Some of the pages on http://www.ontrack.com/library/ work and some like this did not work for me. This is one of those that failed. http://www.ontrack.com/library/rr-efficiency.pdf the ones that failed seemed larger. I am going to grab a newer build to test.

I am seeing the above issues I mentioned in a trunk build from today 2002072708. It sounds the same as this bug. I have Acrobat Reader 5.01. Can the original reporter and others test and confirm?

I have downloaded Mozilla 1.1 Beta (build 2002072104) and http://www.ontrack.com/library/rr-efficiency.pdf does not work either. I have Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 (Help->About at the top). It does seem that some .pdf files load whiles others don't. Does http://www.ontrack.com/library/rr-efficiency.pdf work with anyone who has an older version of Acrobat Reader? Pdf files worked in Mozilla 1.0, BTW.

Problem: Moz expects the PDF plugin to be there... If it's not, nothing happens. This is affecting me with 2003062608...

I have the same problem using Windows 2000 SP4, Mozilla 1.5a (Build 2003071814) and Acrobat 6. I had it already using Windows 2000 SP1, Mozilla 1.3.1 and Acrobat 5. The Plugin Manager reports, that I have the right Acrobat plugin successfully installed. It is boring and makes me switch to IE6, because I view lots of PDFs.

Yup, same here. Mozilla 2004011316. Acrobat Reader 5.0 Windows 2000 SP3 Reading Pdf's used to work. Now it doesn't. When you click on a pdf you get a blank screen. About:plugins report I have a working nppdf32.dll

I think, Bug #154999 should be marked as a duplicate of #204550. We are much closer to a solution there and have found a good workaround so far.
