Details
See comments in bug 146340 re: mail checking being halted when windows are
closed. Expected behavior should be that if an app runs in the quicklaunch bar
under windows, it should continue to operate even if all its windows are closed,
since this is the behavior of all other windows apps.

I'm closing this re: comments on bug 146340, and have opened a feature request
for a persistent mail checker (bug 168234).
