User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0
Steps to reproduce:
I rotated my laptop upside down (it is lenovo flex), so that the subpixels order changed from RGB to BGR. I changed ClearType settings in Windows to "reverse subpixels order", restarted Windows. Now in Windows interface the fonts are rendered properly.
Actual results:
But in Firefox fonts on webpages and Firefox menu items are blurry because Firefox still continue rendering fonts in the regular subpixels mode.
Here are the relevant settings from about:support:
AzureCanvasBackend skia
AzureCanvasBackend (UI Process) skia
AzureContentBackend skia
AzureContentBackend (UI Process) skia
AzureFallbackCanvasBackend (UI Process) cairo
GPUProcessPid 14228
ClearType Parameters Gamma: 2.2 Pixel Structure: BGR ClearType Level: 100 Enhanced Contrast: 50
Expected results:
I expect Firefox should recognize both screen rotations and ClearType settings change, and render properly even without restarting Windows or Firefox.
The same bug takes place for Thunderbird, Bug 1556303.
