Reproducible:
1. 07-03 1.0.0 branch build / WinXP-US when input Japanese and Chinese characters.
2. 07-03 1.0.0 branch build / WinXP-SimpChinese when input Japanese, Korean and
French characters.
3. 07-02 1.0.0 branch build / WinME-Japanese when input Chinese and Korean
characters.
Not reproducible:
1. 07-03 1.0.0 branch build / WinXP-US when input English/French characters.
2. 07-03 1.0.0 branch build / WinXP-SimpChinese when input Chinese characters.
3. 3. 07-02 1.0.0 branch build / WinME-Japanese when input Japanese characters.
Steps:
1. Install Netscape with Java included.
2. Go to yahoo chat page(s):
http://chat.yahoo.com/ or http://cn.chat.yahoo.com, http://chat.yahoo.co.jp/...etc.
3. Login and enter a chat room.
4. Enable IME and start typing.
Result:
Only can enter English and those characters which same language as OS.
When try to enter non-ascii characters on non-native language OS, can not get
any thing show up in input text area.
This is inconvenient, because for example, even though user is able to read the
Japanese chat room UI and other people Japanese message properly on US WinXP-SC,
but user can not enther their own Japanese message.

I don't think it's a regression. This only happens on Java applet yahoo chat
room but not in our Netscape client Broswer or Composer.
Btw, the Java version I used were jre1.4.0_01 and jre1.4.1-beta.
Another Yahoo chatroom bug. Re-assign to java group.

Susie, is there a possibility to address this through evangelism against Yahoo?

What would Yahoo need to do exactly?

Currently, the chat room is only working for applet langauge is match with OS
language, if you load a Japanese chat room on US OS, then you can not input
Japanese text string even though you can see other people's Japanese chat message.

Cc'd momoi@netscape.com.
Since this is Japanese Yahoo chat issue, Kat is the right person to ask.

Mass-closing bugs in the "OJI" component: OJI plugin integration was replaced with npruntime long ago, and these bugs appear to be irrelevant now. If there is in fact a real bug that remains, please file it new in the "Core" product, component "Plug-ins".
