Steps to reproduce:

1. I went to reddit.com
2. Try to type my username and password

(I do have installed Darkreader extension, but it is disabled on that particular sight. Just to make sure from the screencast video I will be adding below.)

Actual results:

1. I can't see the username, mail address and password typed in unless I select all.

Expected results:

A very expected before since its "Firefox".

And I am foolishly trying to be fulltime Firefox user after Chrome recent announcement.

Loads of bug every single day.

Not a security bug that needs to stay hidden.

I can't reproduce this issue. Can you try disabling the 'dark reader' extension completely and seeing if the bug still reproduces?

Also, can you attach a copy of about:support (Help > troubleshooting information), and details of the linux theme you use?

What I suspect is happening is that either an add-on is interfering with the site, or you have Firefox set up to use the system colours as default colours, you use a dark linux theme (or usercontent.css or whatever), and reddit specifies a background colour but not a foreground colour for that textbox, so the default foreground colour is used, which might be white if an add-on or your theme / usercontent.css specifies this.

I had similar issues with this extension, but those did not happen while the extension was simply turned off.

i have turned off the extension for that website and even refresh it, but... didn't work.

I have reported so many bugs in Linux (Ubuntu), ...

If i have to give ratings: I would give 1 out of 10 to firefox.

Hope this changes in future.... until then... I would prefer other

I cannot reproduce your issue on Ubuntu 18.04.2 with Firefox Release v67.0.2 and Dark Reader installed. There must be something else causing it.

Pranav bhattarai, please try to reproduce your issue on a newly created profile, as requested in comment 2. Alternatively, an easier, but not as effective way would be to try to reproduce it in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
The extensions you use may very well be the culprit of your issue, not Firefox. Let us eliminate the probability of extensions/user data ruining the behavior of Firefox.

The first thing is: U are using 18.04.2 and I am using Ubuntu 19.04.
Now to reproduce my problem follow this step:

1. Install an important extension called "Dark reader"
2. Now let imagine, Firefox is doing everything in the right order. Go to Settings>Extension>Dark Reader and select "Don't allow" in "Run in Private Windows".
3. Save it. And open a New Private Window.
4. Now u can see there is no extension running at the background since its "Private window".
5. Go to any website. Especially if u want to see effect faster, go to reddit.com
6. Now try to login. And now you are typing with white text. i.e u can't see what you typing in "Username" and "Password" section.

That's firefox. Bye.

Firefox developer should keep a stable non-LTS release. (I am not saying to install pre-release.)
For example, right now:
LTS: 18.04.02 (Slow update of any software installed in PC)

Non-LTS: 19.04 This is important because I want software updates when companies release stable updates. Whereas in LTS, it could take months to reach even if it is stable.

Details of the Linux Theme used may be satisfied by the screenshot above, but Gijs is also asking for the following:

1. Go in the Firefox browser you have the issue.
2. Input the text "about:support" in the address bar.
   (This page can also be reached by going to browser's menu/Help/Troubleshooting Information.)
3. Click the "Copy text to clipboard" button.
4. Paste the information copied into the comment section of this bug.

OK, so as I suspected, this is a known issue. The website (ie reddit) specifies a background color for the input field, which is white, but doesn't specify a foreground colour. The browser's default CSS code uses your OS theme's default foreground colour, which is also white. So now you have white text on a white background.
