Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:67.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/67.0
Steps to reproduce:
Launch Firefox 67.0.1, Firefox Nightly, or Firefox Developer Edition
Actual results:
User is forced to create a new profile and can never again use their previous one.
This results in a loss of all extensions, cookies, etc.
Expected results:
User should not have to start new profile, or profile should preserve all data.

Can you explain more about what you're seeing?
Hi Dave,
It seems that if a user has quit the application and launch it again, they run the chance of Firefox rejecting their profile, presenting the dialog window explaining that the profile is associated with a previous version and a new one must be created.
It appears this is a known issue for the past month or so, according to some posts on the Firefox subreddit.

Can you identify a particular case where it happens, like is there a particular way of launching Firefox that causes it?

Hi Dave,
I only ever use FF as an end-user would, so launching via the application itself. I have tried to launch from the command line to force it to load the correct profile, but I got the same issue.

Is that double-clicking on Firefox in /Applications? Clicking on its dock icon? Something else?
Do you ever move your copy of Firefox?
