Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0

Steps to reproduce:

Preferences > Privacy & Security > History > select Never remember history; then restart firefox developer edition on prompt.

Actual results:

All context menus and icons for all addons disappeared on reset. They all still show that they are installed, but firefox behaves as if no addons are installed.

Expected results:

Recording history disabled.

Hi,

This is happening because add-ons are not allowed in private mode by default. When a user switch to "Never remember history" and restart the browser, this is opened again in private mode, and in private mode add-ons icons disappear because any extension or new extensions that the user add to Firefox won't work in Private Windows unless the user allow this in the settings.
If you want to use add-ons in private mode must go to hamburger menu > Add-ons > Extensions > Click on any extension you have installed > go down to "Run in Private Windows" and check Allow.
If switch again to remember history and restart the browser the add-ons icons will appear again because the browser is no longer in private mode.

For more information about private mode after switch to "Never remember history" here:

Thanks for the report.
