STR:

  1. Ensure that the Picture-in-Picture toggle is enabled (media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.enabled and media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-toggle.enabled are set to true)
  2. Visit https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/dc-mueller-statement-1.5153877
  3. Scroll down to the video, and press the Play button in the middle of the video
  4. Notice the Picture-in-Picture toggle in the video player when the mouse hovers over the video
  5. Move the mouse cursor away from the video so that it no longer hovers over it.

ER:

The toggle should disappear.

AR:

The toggle stays visible.

This will improve a bit once bug 1566152 is closed.

This is a little bit better, but to really improve things here, we're likely going to need a more robust mechanism for knowing when the mouse is over a video and when it's not.

The fact that the toggle goes away in this case after 2 seconds since bug 1566152 closed, makes me think we can downgrade the priority of this one now.

Priority: P2 → P3

Just found this after submitting Netflix bug, it can be reproduced reliably there, see Bug 1582163

I believe this is now fixed via bug 1549442.
