Steps to reproduce:

Look on an Amazon page with over a dozen items shown

Actual results:

One item shows as a green box with some thin black lines and dots on it - once in a while, and on different sites. (In Fonts and colors, "Allow pages to choose their own fonts" is not checked.)

Looking at another tab then going back to the one in question usually clears it up. (Haven't found any way to reproduce it yet.)

(Also, occasionally, black text turns to magenta - may be connected or not.)

Expected results:

Picture should have showed the first time. (And black text should be black.)

Changed it. Still no fix. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.outlook still shows some screenshots in green - sometimes.

If you open about:support, "Compositing" does not longer contain "WebRender", right? What does it say instead?
(In case it still says WebRender, please make sure the preference is correctly set and Nightly really restarted. In case of doubt, please restart Windows. Thanks. ^^)

So far we know that:

• Two reporters both using AMD GPUs (thanks a ton darkspirit for digging up the reddit thread), not quite the same model (device ids 0x67ef and 0x67df) but both in the Radeon 400 series.
• Not specific to WebRender or the compositor (which is surprising for this type of bug)
• Somehow this seems to not affect fully transparent fragments (I suppose the GPU detects and discards them before blending). If the issue was happening while sampling from a texture I would expect the alpha to be uniformly wrong just like the color for the text from the reddit thread.

This smells like a driver or hardware issue. I wasn't able to reproduce it but I don't have any AMD hardware handy. The next step would be to try newer drivers and see if it fixes the issue.

alklein2112, your driver is from 2017, it's likely that AMD has released newer graphics drivers since then. Would it be possible for you to update the driver and report whether the issue is still present?

I have an AMD RX 460 (0x67ef) with driver 22.19.162.4. I don't immediately see anything like the alklein2112 described. alklein2112 can you post some more screenshots of situations where you see it happening?

I let Windows find a "newer" driver, and what it found was 16.300.2311.0 dated 7/18/2016.

I'll keep using Nightly and report back if anything happens again, or in about a week if nothing does.

Jeff, if I have any screenshots to post, I will. So far, this is the only place I've been since I installed the driver, and no problem. (RX-460)

I had the bug with the 2017 AMD driver for my iMac running Win10 with a Radeon Pro 580. I updated the driver to the 2019 boot camp driver and I haven't triggered the bug yet.

I still have this issue.

Windows 10 (home)
AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 - Radeon Software 17.1.1
Firefox 70.0.1 (using WebRender)

Pink or green text once in a while. Sometimes changing firefox tab fixes the issue.
Happens daily but I don't have a solid repro case.

That sounds more like bug 1588401.

Just updating the driver fixed it for me. Something doesn't like the old Radeon 480 driver.
