Preamble: I'm sure that comparisons with Internet Exploder don't win any points on their own, but IE and it's silly "security zones" tab allows me to do something quite useful: have a "whitelist" of ("trusted") sites for which I want to accept cookies, and any site not on the list is, de facto, not allowed to set cookies. With Mozilla's "remember decision" feature I can build a "blacklist" of sites pretty easily, but it requires me to click the "No" quite a bit more than the alternative, and is pretty messy, comparatively speaking. Proposition: Allowing users to enter sitenames and cookie-setting-ability into the Cookie Manager manually, combined with the ability of Mozilla to recognize a "default site" entry, would IMO give people exceptionally fine-grained control over how they deal with cookies. If this is currently possible somehow, I'd appreciate instructions on what to do, if it's not, I think it would be a worthy endeavour.
Dupe of bug 33467? Not sure about the whitelist part. When disabling cookies, can the 'allow' sites in cookie manager still set cookies?
No sir, the "disable all cookies" option does precisely what it says. =) This does appear to be a dupe of bug 33467, with the exception of my "default case" suggestion. If the two can/should be combined, all the better.
I think that the other issue is bug 75915 (but there are other bugs for example to get an UI for something like security zones) And you can take a look at all the enhancements in http://www.cc-net.or.jp/~piro/xul/xul.html
This issue is most definitely is a dupe of bug 75915. Funny part is, I searched for quite a while to make sure I didn't have a dupe before posting this. I guess I should have opened my eyes. =) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 75915 ***
