There are some cases where we may not want to show the password visibility doorhanger toggle:

  1. When the password in the doorhanger is from an already saved login (e.g. the user is getting prompted to add a username)
  2. The user has a Master Password set and we don't want to pop up a MP auth dialog.
  3. The user saw the doorhanger but clicked outside of it (bug 1178855)

But there is probably an exception to #1 which is after auto-saving a generated password… the password is already saved so the user may have never saw the panel open yet in order to view the password to save but we want the user to be able to add their username.

Are there other cases where we want to show or not show the checkbox?
