Steps to reproduce:

Customize "Day and Week Views" in Preferences (Options) > Calendar > Views, open the the Lightning "Calendar" tab and choose the "Day" or "Week" view.
Restart Thunderbird and switch to the Calendar tab.

Actual results:

Lightning defaults to 00:00 a.m. as the beginning of day and events in the afternoon and the evening won't be visible unless the user scrolls down to the bottom.

Expected results:

Lightning should memorize the user choice for beginning of the day, e. g. 08:00.

I just reproduced the same issue during tests with TB 68.0-candidates/build4/ in a new profile.

Summary: Calendar defaults to 00:00 a.m in day view and week view in Thunderbird 69 beta → Calendar defaults to 00:00 a.m in day view and week view in Thunderbird 68.0 and Thunderbird 69 beta

I'll have to check 60.8.0, but testing the 68.0 release candidate on Ubuntu 18.04.3, when I set the Day to start at Noon, the time in Day and Week view for today from 12:00 am to Noon is blocked out in grey and I see a red line for the current time.

So I guess I can't reproduce this on Linux.

Same as Bug 1571552?

Yes, it is exactly the same as bug 1571552. I had mentioned this issue on Etherpad when I tested TB 69.0b2 in the beginning of August.
When I reported this bug I didn't find the bug which Jorg K had already filed.
