The checkin for bug 156522 seems to have caused a regression where if you open a
new window with a blank homepage, the blank document does not get reflowed. So,
the content area stays grey instead of white. This also causes a focus problem
(I think) where the document does not get focus the first time a document is
loaded in a browser window.

Does this occur on a branch build if you apply attachment from 90649 bug 156522
(or on a trunk build if you apply attachment 87306 [details] [diff] [review] of bug 141900)?

Er, wrong bug numbers. That should have said:
Does this occur on a branch build if you apply attachment from 90649 bug 156522
(or on a trunk build if you apply attachment 71687 [details] [diff] [review] from bug 81546)?

Note that the "grey instead of white" bit is only true for the Modern skin. In
Classic it's white either way. I see the focus problem, but I can't reproduce
it on the branch, even with heikki's branch-only change in attachment 87306 [details] [diff] [review]
backed out.

I've seen this on WinXP trunk build 2002071108, using Modern.

Actually, I can see this on the branch (both symptoms) if I add my scrollbar
changes to the branch, although only for about half of the windows that I open.

Actually, I think the focus problem isn't the fault of the changes in bug
156522. I see the new document being focused only about half the time with or
without my changes. The changes in bug 156522 merely cause a color change in
the about:blank document that tells you whether you're in the state where focus
is broken.

I see this on a trunk build with the classic skin (on Linux).
One interesting thing about the gray vs. white document background is that it
changes to white if I simply click in the blank document.

I'm fairly sure there is more to it than this patch simply causing the color
change when focus is already messed up. With the patch for 156522 in my tree,
100% of the time, I can open a new window, load a page in it, and the page will
not be focused after it's loaded. With the patch backed out, 100% of the time,
it works correctly.
Confirmed:
grey bg / focus problem with "blank" page, classic skin, build 2002071504/WinXP.

Hmm. What I described was what I saw on the branch, with my patch applied
there. I'll have to try the same tests on the trunk...

Verified this bug on todays branch and trunk builds: 2002-07-22-08-1.0 and
2002-07-22-08-trunk. I see white bg and focus is on URL Location when I changed
theme to classic and home page to blank. I think this is fixed by patch for
bug#156985 on both trunk and branch builds.
