1579317 - Blank Window on Restore from Taskbar

If the user minimizes the main application window, the window may be blank when restoring it from the taskbar. The blank window can be minimized, maximized, and closed by clicking on the locations at the top-right of the window where the buttons for these actions would normally be rendered, and it can be moved around the desktop by left-clicking and holding where the window's title bar would be. Mousing over the window, the cursor doesn't change to indicate the application is busy or waiting. The window seems to remain in this blank state indefinitely, so the only the only workaround is to exit the application and open it again.

I believe the issue may only occur when the window is minimized while Thunderbird is syncing changes that would result in a change to the rendered state of the window (were the window not minimized). While I've seen this bug occur at least a dozen times, I've had no success forcing it to occur for the sake of verifying the details.

I've noticed this issue in Thunderbird 60.8.0 and 68. The current graphics driver in use is Radeon 19.9.1, and this issue has occurred with previous driver versions released by AMD since the release of Thunderbird 60.8.0.

We always report the oldest version the bug occurred in, so it doesn't look like a new issue.

Have you tried switching graphic acceleration off? Options, Advanced, General, last item. Does this happen with Firefox? We use Mozilla platform code for rendering, so TB and FF should be equally affected.
