From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020721 BuildID: 2002072103 For some unknown reasons Mozilla has problems with correct display of two specific polish characters: ł and ń, it occurs with both sans-serif and serif fonts. Moreover, on some pages the fonts are displayed correctly. It surely does't depend on font used on page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Visit the page listonoszmac. republika.pl 2.Some characters are bigger than the rest, especially ł and ń Actual Results: The characters are displayed incorrectly Expected Results: Of course it should display the fonts correctly, compare the page displayed with Mozilla for OS X and with Internet Explorer for OS X I know that this problem has been mentioned before, but somebody has changed its status to "Works fine for me" for unknown reason. I think this is a very important bug, because it makes the page nearly unreadable.
The first screenshot was from Mozilla for OS X with some words highlited, this one is from Internet Explorer 5.2.1 for Mac OS X and it displays the cgaracters corrextly. I post these just for comparison.
always a "ł" having to much gap.... hm
Probably mac specific problem, works fine on 2002072008/win98 Might be related to: bug 18095, bug 5488, bug 35551.
Actually, this is a duplicate of bug 148361. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 148361 ***

I would suggest reopening this bug. Even though bug 148361(a prevailing duplicate of this bug) has been marked as a duplicate of bug 111728 and 111728 has been marked as fixed, polish characters are still not displayed correctly. Probably, this bug also depends on bugs 121540 and 163085. Moreover this bug should be listed in Meta bug 103669.

I think the remaining problems may be caused by bug 165878, per bug 111728, comment 68.
Dear Greg :) I thing it's not really the way you see it, please see bug 201817 that I have just filed.
Depends on: 201817

I still think this is that other bug, but here's a testcase we can talk about. Does this demonstrate the problem, Ignacy?
Yes, It does. P.S. Your right, this bug depends on the other bugs you mentioned and I mentioned in bug 201817. Can we then, leave this bug as it is, but add some dependecies and if all of the other bugs are fixed we will see if Mozilla displayes iso-8859-2 specific characters fine. If it does this bug will be closed (sort of tracking bug). I propose this because I'm not 100% sure that fixing all those other bugs will for sure fix this bug as well. What do you think?

I think both roy and me are off mozilla for more than 2 years. If these bugs are still here now, I think the real stauts is 'won't fix'. If you want to reopen it, please find a new owner for it first.
