This was probably already filed and buried among the WontFix bugs, but let's try again.
Most of us have already managed to accidentally close a page (such as when editing an article or writing a forum post) and lose a lot of work with a single click. Most sites (try Wikipedia) prevent that with a warning, shown in Firefox as: "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave - data you have entered may not be saved. Leave Page / Stay on Page". This should be added to SUMO, too.

A similar issue was brought up today by mkaply in the SUMO matrix room, https://chat.mozilla.org/#/room/#sumo:mozilla.org
(quote) Today I learned that clicking a link in my preview of my document on SUMO causes me to lose all my content when I go back :(
