We are adding new sendtab telemetry to the "sync ping" - once that's done, it will need to make its way to Amplitude. Leif knows how to do that :)

It appears I'm actually going to be fixing this; assigning myself.

Hasn't been touched in 2 years - and we've since deprecated amplitude, so closing as inactive. github bug referenced is closed as well.

Please re-open if you have recent updates to consider doing this work.
