I saw this with Chrome as well, so this is not just Firefox, FWIW. Could be an OSX bug, or it might be something both browsers need to fix?

For camera and mic, we have NSCameraUsageDescription and NSMicrophoneUsageDescription defined in our .app/Contents/Info.plist. I don't see anything in Apple's documentation for screen recording.

I just tried this while investigating bug 1632257 on nightly, and I do not get any OS prompt at all.

Interesting, when switching to Firefox release, I get an OS level prompt for Cisco Webex!
It seems that if you click away (or switch windows) from the OS level prompt, the prompt hangs around. Attempting to screen record from a new application brings up the old request again. If it is ignored again, further attempts do not bring it back to the forefront.

Is that even after running tccutil reset ScreenCapture
?

Yes. That command did not do anything to help with this problem.

If this was an OS bug, then they've now fixed it. The prompt now appropriately says the application name (e.g. FirefoxNightly
).
