User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0
Steps to reproduce:
Installed the new 68.2 x64, created fresh new profile, started playing.
Soon noticed an annoyance that I kept forgetting to report as a bug/enhancement...
Started playing with the Quickfilter
Actual results:
Noticed that the search starts immediately after typing the very first character.
This is extremely inefficient. How many people are going to search for an email with 'a' in it? The problem grows when searching on extremely large folder - and it is dramatically worse if you are doing body searches on extremely large folders, and brings TB to its knees if those large folders are on an IMAP server and are not fully sync'd.
Expected results:
The search shouldn't actually start filtering until some number of characters are entered - or until the enter key is pressed. I can see a sane default of 3, configurable with the config editor maybe...

Ok, I entered this bug report before actually testing the new 68.2. I just did, and it appears that the massive performance hit is no longer there. Tested on a online (not set to offline) folder with 20k+ messages in it, and selecting Body search along with the others only causes a small delay when entering search criteria.
So, while it kind of isn't a big deal any more, I still think this enhancement makes sense, so I'm not closing the bug.
Great job on 68 everyone!

The performance hit you're talking about was fixed in TB 68.1.2 in bug 1584558, see release notes:
