Steps to reproduce:

I have been a long time user of the expression-search addon and now you broke the compatibility :-( Without a good search Thunderbird to me is quite useless and I will now have to look for a valid alternativ. How come expression-search is not natively provided?? The implemented search IMO is really old school and not very useful from a visual and functional perspective. What are the plans?

New versions keep breaking superb addons!

Expected results:

The inbuilt TB search function should needs to be dramatically improved. I cannot stay in my email list and filter "from:" etc. This is crazy!!!

According to https://github.com/wangvisual/expression-search/issues/80 the author is interested in making it work. Apparently hasn't gotten there yet
