By force quit I assume you mean frequent crashes. For Mac, that probably means you are seeing Bug 1381485 - Hangs sending mail while copying message to Sent folder on Mac-only while displaying the progress bar. Deadlock in graphics on CGLClearDrawable.

If that doesn't describe what you are seeing, please describe what you are doing when it crashes.

Summary: I need to force quit about 4 times per day. I have been sending reports for over 6 mos and no one has fixed the issue. Thunderbird also has stopped spell checking my emails. AND includes all the junk email in my inbox. → Frequent crashes

YES, frequent crashes. Only way to resolve is to force quit and begin again. The message is sent but just spinning and cannot access Thunderbird in any way until you force quit. Does not happen every time I send email, only sometimes.

SO FIX IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
