This is one of those if it looks like a shoe and feels like a shoe, then I expect it to be a shoe. or something... steps: edit>preferences>appearance>fonts see bug 159252. Help needs to explain why it is that when I select Sans-serif/Serif it magically bleeds through. Here's the relevant help text: * Fonts for: Choose a language character set. For instance, to set default fonts for the Western (Roman) character set, choose "Western." o Proportional: Select whether proportional text should be serif (like Times Roman) or sans-serif (like Arial). You can also specify what font size you want for proportional text. Proportional text is variable in width, so characters and letters vary in width. o Serif: Select a serif font you want to use for web pages. o Sans-serif: Select a sans-serif font you want to use for web pages. o Cursive: Select a cursive font you want to use for web pages. o Fantasy: Select a fantasy you want to use for web pages. o Monospace: Select a monospace font (like Courier) you want to use for web pages. Monospace text is fixed in width, so each character or letter takes the same amount of space. The help text (new bug?) implies that I should be able to select proportional independently for each 'language character set'. Suggested solution: fix the other bug and then move the proportional help to match its new location

I'm sorry, I don't even know what's wrong here. Can someone explain this to me like I was a child?
The font setting panel is arranged as if Proportional Font setting is language-dependent. It's not. Change to it applies to all language. This is a UI problem. Proportional Font setting should be moved outside of the group box. suggest wontfix since this is a UI problem, not Help problem.
> suggest wontfix since this is a UI problem, not Help problem. oh, I think I misinterpreted the bug. If it's a UI problem, it should be reassigned to another component, not marked wontfix.
--> Browser If this is ever changed, we'll change the help files accordingly.
