change MozillaWiki username

I identify as 'shine' in MozNet. Hence I'd like to change the username on my MozillaWiki profile to reflect the same username.
Current Username : Shine_Nelson
Desired Username : shine

Hello shine.
Unfortunately the user name Shine already exists (note that user names have the first letter as a capital) - and has done since 2012.
This user has not created any new pages or edited existing ones, therefore in this case I would be prepared to delete the existing account (well, "merge" with a dummy account) and change YOUR account to "Shine" as you request.
To do this we will need to install an extension that we currently do not have. We are in the process of upgrading the WMO codebase to the latest version of WikiMedia and I have requested this extension be added to our staging server so I can check it works before we release to production.
tl:dr - can you wait a few weeks pleaase :)

I think that account would be mine too since I joined the mozilla community around that time. If it wouldn't be too much of a hassle, could you indicate a partial email that I could probably try and recognize? If not, merging would be fine as well.
And no, I don't mind waiting. I hope my current contributions in the current account will be attributed to the new name as well. Thanks

I did wonder if the old account was yours as well :) Unfortunately I cannot get access to WMO user's email addresses so I am not able to remind you of the address associated with your first account.
The merge extension should backfill ALL of the history of your new account into your old account. It will then delete the new account.
I will trial this on the staging server before trying it in "real life" though :)

Have not forgotten this bug. Have raised bug 1636860 to get required extension installed in our staging server. Once am happy that it works will get it installed on the live server - then I can make the change to your account/s.
