User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/78.0.3904.87 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Tried to add an Exchange account
Actual results:
Thunderbird automatically selected the "Exchange" radio button with a redirect to the paid-for Owl product to allow Exchange mail to be synchronised
Expected results:
Thunderbird should not be opinionated on what paid-for services users should use.
Even if you feel the need to motion the less tech-savvy users to a paid-for upgrade, you should be clear and transparent that this is an OPTIONAL upgrade and IMAP support is perfectly sufficient.
Mozilla is supposed to be about transparency; this isn't transparency.

Agreed! We're already on it in bug 1592258.
