User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/78.0.3904.87 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
Deleting an email causes intermittent hangs on MacOS Catilina. This problem occurs at least twice per day and always with the same call stack (starting with _nextEventMatchingEventMask:untilDate:inMode:dequeue:). I have tried deleting Thunderbird preferences but that did not help. Complete call stack shown in attached file.
Actual results:
Hangs with beachball
Expected results:
Delete the email without hanging.

Sorry you are having trouble. Looking further down in the stack, this is likely bug 1381485 - Hangs sending mail while copying message to Sent folder on Mac-only while displaying the progress bar. Deadlock in graphics on CGLClearDrawable.

Wayne,
In
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1246950?page=2,
you said:
If anyone is still having an issue when using Thunderbird 68, please post a new issue in the support forum. Thanks
which is exactly why I submitted this bug.
Also, 1381485 describes a hang in sending mail while my issue occurs when deleting a message.

Further down in your stack is CGLClearDrawable, so very likely the two issues are the same, despite your action being different. We can always undupe them if your issue isn't resolved when bug 1381485 is resolved
