Selecting text inside a link is a huge pain (on Google search results, for example). Link gets dragged instead of starting selecting text. I don't want to hold Alt key, and I never drag links, so I don't need link dragging functionality. Please, allow user to disable it (in about:config or wherever), so selecting text inside links would become as easy as selecting in plain text.

224085 is related (it looks like I don't have permission to properly link them under See Also): that is a proposed solution for a special case of this general problem, i.e. when the user wants to (select and) copy the full text.
Note that the Alt-key is a workaround for this issue.
This issue is still in status UNCONFIRMED - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=copy%20link%20text suggests that it has relevance to more users.

For anybody wondering how to use the workaround without accidentally moving the Firefox window around: you have to press both Alt keys at once.
Alternatively, pressing left Alt and Windows key at once works too, if you have a windows key.
Still mysterious why this issue still has not been fixed in 22 years :-( (initially reported as bug #133661 !)
