Both were very useful for creating bookmarks for related sets of prefs. Regex is needed because related prefs don't always share common sub-strings

You can't just strip away all power features based on telemetry. There is value for the project in also serving a smaller developer and power user audience, not constantly aggravating them with regressions in functionality in every release where you replace xul-based features.

This was considered repeatedly, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1501450#c8, bug 1522804.

The regex issue is bug 1556385. Note that there is already a wildcard feature (ie using "", so e.g. "secupolicy" works) that may help you.
