Since attempting to update my smtp server (for outgoing mail) when I try to
send mail I get the following window:
Title: Send Message Error
Text:
Sending of message failed.
An error occurred sending mail: Unable to connect to SMTP server %S. The server
may be down or may be incorrectly configured. Please verify that your Mail/News
account settings are correct and try again.
Buttons: OK
Going to the "Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings" and clicking on "Outgoing
Server (SMTP)" shows the proper mail server in the "Server Name:" field.
Unfortunately this has no effect.
Furthermore, if I enter the "Advanced..." box then when I leave that window
(which looks fine) I cannot exit the account settings via the "OK" button - I
must "Cancel".
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
I don't know if this is reproducible on other systems, I don't have anywhere
else to test.
I went to 1.1a due to a bug in 1.0's mail (frequent crashing) so moving back to
1.0 is not a fix for me :(
Actual Results: See description.
Expected Results: Mozilla should have updated my server and allowed me to send
mail.
My old SMTP server used to be listed in the Advanced... window (as mentioned
above) no less than four times. In addition there was a BLANK entry which I
deleted.
If I remove my SMTP server then I get an entry in Advanced...
called "(Default)" but after I edit that for my current settings and then OK
from the Advanced... window, I cannot use the OK button to exit and save
preferences (as above.)
the advanced dialog's OK button failing is bug 150471
