Whenever i'm in a google sheet while using Firefox, column height randomly changes when I make certain keystrokes. I'll type in a cell and complete my inputs. When I hit tab, the column height will change. In the example photo, I was using Firefox, and when I hit tab to move onto the next cell, the row height automatically doubled. I opened Chrome and typed the same characters. I hit tab and the height didn't change. It happened on several rows in the image below.

To illustrate, see image:

I added text in rows 9 and 13 on Firefox. I hit tab and the row height doubled.
I added text in rows 10 and 11 on Chrome. I hit tab and the row height is unchanged.

I'm using a Macbook Air on version 10.14.6

Oana, are you able to reproduce?

Mike, I can't reproduce the issue.

Tested with:
Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 73.0a1 (2019-12-09)
Operating System: MacOS 10.15.1, Windows 10 Pro

Flags: needinfo?(oana.arbuzov)

I'm not able to reproduce in the way it was reported, but I can reproduce something similar if I do the following:

STR:

  1. type "Firefox" in a cell, hit tab to go to the next tab
  2. type "blah blah blah", hit tab to go to the next tab
  3. arrow back to "blah blah blah" and hit Enter
  4. delete all the characters (shift control back, or just hit backspace/delete until they're all gone), hit Enter

At this point the cell grows. If I go add some other text and hit Enter in the taller cell, the height snaps back to normal.

Winston, does the original bug you reported still consistently reproduce for you?

It is still occurring for me. I think it's triggered when I type something that requires the space bar AND the copy exceeds the cell width.
