RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 978010

People

(Reporter: Fabrizio.Marana, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to about:preferences
  2. Go to Privacy & Security
  3. Select Custom and turn everything on:
    a. Cookies: All cookies
    b. Tracking content: in all Windows
    c. Cryptominers
    d. Fingerprinters
  4. in Cookies and Site Data allow permanent cookies for https://mozilla.org in Manage Permissions
  5. Turn on Sync
  6. Go to another device

Actual results:

  1. The list in Manage Permissions is not synced across devices although Preferences has been checked in Sync Settings. :-(

Expected results:

The whole reason for me to activate sync was to not have to copy my FireFox profile across 2 devices and 3 Operating systems (2 users in Manjaro, 2 in Windows, 2 in Ubuntu and 1 on Android) as I expected the list in Manage Permissions to be synced across these.

Workaround:

  1. Turn off sync again. ;-)
  2. Find where in the profile this bit of information is saved and export/import the SQL table across multiple devices instead of copying the entire profile. (It's a finely tuned list that allows me to use the websites that I use without any tracking and a bit of work to keep synchronized )

P.S. I was pleasantly surprised that my add-ons were synced and auto-installed though! Thanks for that one and keep up the good work...
