User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/78.0.3904.108 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

After updating to Thunderbird 68.3.0, I clicked on a .docx attachment in an email.

Actual results:

Attachment doesn't open, message pops up: "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an associate in the Default Apps Setting Page."

Expected results:

File should have opened in Word, it did this properly before updating to 68.3.0. The file type is associated correctly with Word.

Hi,
I am having issues for opening attachments as well. From what I see I suspect it's related to missing quotation marks around (at least) the filename when the command is launched.

I have 68.3.0 (64-bit) on Windows 8.1.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
L.

As a follow-up clarificatin, .pdf attachments open fine, .docx attachments do not open from within Thunderbird. I have to save the attachment, then open it.
