Steps to reproduce:

Use iOS Mail and go to macOS dock.

Actual results:

macOS Mail is offered to take over current mail

Expected results:

Thunderbird should be offered to take over control like it already works in Firefox.

I was just curious, if there's any work on this and found my own report which is still unrecognized after two years.
Since Firefox supports this since years, it should be possible to re-use that code or learn from it.
Would be great to see it on the roadmap.

I have been using Thunderbird Mail for years, really missing this feature.
As Ingo said, really appreciate to have this function (re-)implemented/enabled.
