Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0

Steps to reproduce:

I try to open email attachments directly from the attachment to the email. The problem is most significant with PDFs (the format for most most of my attachments received). Except for trying to open with TWINUI, which sometime works, I get the error message "This file cannot be found." The error occurs with multiple programs (e.g., Acrobat, Nuance Power Pro, etc.). The problem appears to have started after update to version 68.3.1.

Actual results:

When I try to open an attachment directly from the email, I get error message :This file cannot be found" and it happens almost every time with PDFs no matter what program I select to open with except for TWINUI which work sometimes. If I save the attachment rather than trying to open it, I can then retrieve the attachment and open it with just about anything.

Expected results:

I should get the "what do you want Thunderbird to do" and be able to select the program with which to open the attachment and the program should then open the attachment directly from the email.

It only fails if the file name has spaces in the name.

Will be fixed any day now in TB 68.4.1.
