about:certificate provides the best certificate viewing experience, so Network's Security tab should link to it.

Maybe we should even retire the security tab in favor of linking to it directly, but the new tab experience might be too untrusive.

Open it via page info dialog. Not sure why it is so hidden away.

I see, works for me now.

The page is HTML so, another option is to render it within the side panel as is.

It is responsive to smaller screens, but not enough to fit into a sidebar.

ni? Johann on his preference a) making it work to embed in sidebars (network details panel) or b) linking to it.

I'm not 100% sure what the sidebar would look like but in general it sounds like about:certificate is a great fit for embedding into small viewports. We're planning to do a mobile-compatible design during the Berlin All Hands (see https://mozilla.invisionapp.com/share/XNUHZQSY57U#/screens/392641812_Certificate_Mobile), which off-hand looks like it would fit in a sidebar to me. I think given we have the opportunity to embed that sounds like the much preferable user experience to me.

Maybe we can quickly chat about this in Berlin? We'll also have Carolina and Danielle available there, who are working on this.

Per the latest conversation, the planned mobile view would probably a good format to embed in the Network's security tab.
