From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020722 BuildID: 2002072208 I have had problems of late downloading files with the Mozilla browser. Mainly, the issue appears to be that downloads begin and proceed normally, but for some reason are truncated (sometimes the download terminates after only 8 seconds on my 56K modem for a 2MB file) and these are reported as being completed succesfully. This happened to me several times when downloading Kerio Personal Firewall, as an example, from the above URL. After clearing my Cache, the file appeared to begin downloading normally again, however this wasn't the case for some other files I have tried to download over the past week. I've had to resort to using Internet Explorer for important downloads because of this :( Is this a bug in Mozilla's HTTP 1.1 implementation? (I'm not using a proxy) or something to do with the Cache? Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download big files 2. 3. Actual Results: The download may end premeturely and be reported as succesful. Successive downloads from the same URL will then seemingly terminate at the same file position. Expected Results: The download should not terminate premeturely, or be reported as incomplete, and the Cache should not store content which was chosen to be saved to disk (unless you intend to add full resuming support, in which case it should always prompt).
Looks like a dup of bug 139806 Reporter : do you use http pipelining ? Downloaded 3 days ago Kerio Personal Firewall and got no problem at all. Okay, I am using a DSL line, without http pipelining used.
No, pipelining is disabled.
Reporter : did you try with a 1.1 / 1.2alpha release ? Is the bug still alive ? Thanks for your answer.
I had the exact same problem on 1.2a (20020912) just the other day. I am sorry but I have no idea what causes it.
Did you overwrite your previous mozilla installation ? This should be an "overwriting previous install" bug ;-)
In this case could you please make the installer offer the option to automatically uninstall the old Mozilla build prior to installing the new one?

This also looks like bug 140530.
Duplicate of bug 55307?
unable to reproduce this download failure with windows98 or windowsXP on a current Mozilla build.
