User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0
Steps to reproduce:
Previous version was working as expected.
Installed release Thunderbird 68.4.2
Created a new email
Firefox, Pages and other applications behaving normally, not having these problems.
Actual results:
Keyboard and mouse inputs sometimes ignored. Click on write for new message. Click on message body. Cursor still on To: box, wait for about 5 seconds and cursor moves to message body. Start typing, nothing happens, a few seconds later my characters show up. Enter enough text so that scroll bar shows up on right side. Click on scroll bar and drag and nothing happens. Move roller wheel on mouse and nothing happens.
Also, new messages always fill the whole screen. I reduce the size of the message and expect the next new message to be that size but new messages are always full screen.
Expected results:
All keyboard and mouse inputs immediately processed. New messages are at the same size as the previous new message.
Watching activity monitor while Thunderbird is not responding and see it using 5% to 8% of CPU. After it starts to respond, the CPU usage drops to less than 1%

@Dennis
Which was your "previous" working version of TB?
Was it a TB 68.* (sixty-eight) release version or was it a TB 60.* (sixty) release version?
Does the same issue happen when you run TB in safe mode (hold the Option key when launching TB)?
Do you use a cordless (Bluetooth) keyboard and a cordless mouse ?
What does mean "new messages always fill the whole screen"? Do you mean a new "Compose" (write) window or do you mean opening a received message in a new window?
I can't reproduce any of your issues in TB 68.4.2 on my iMac running macOS 10.14.6
It magically started working correctly this morning. The machine is powered off every night. I didn't install anything yesterday.
Maybe the NSA updated their spy software?
Anyway, you my close out this problem
Thanks
Dennis
